Hobart D. Stitt (Born 1880) was active/lived in Maryland, Arkansas.  Hobart Stitt is known for Landscape and equestrian subject painting, magazine illustration.

Hobart D. Stitt was Born in Hot Springs, Arkansas, and studied at the St. Louis Academy of Fine Art, the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, and in Paris. Among his teachers were Fred Wagner, Robert Spencer and Howard Pyle. Stitt lived in Pikesville, Maryland and specialized in landscapes and equestrian subjects.

Stitt exhibited at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (1922 and 1925) Mill and Barn and Still Life, at the National Academy of Design in New York (1924 and 1925) Spring Blossoms and Springtime and at the Art Institute of Chicago in 1925.

Along with Clifford W. Ashley, Stitt was given an exhibit at the Delaware Art Museum (October 21-November 1, 1924).

His work is in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, Delaware Art Museum, the Little Rock Art Museum, and Princeton University.
